Roast chicken
A classic meal that should be succulent and flavoursome every time.

Ingredients
- chicken, ~1.6 kg
- onions, 2
- carrots, 2
- celery, 2 sticks
- garlic, 1 bulb
- olive oil
- lemon, 1
- fresh herbs, e.g., thyme, rosemary and bay
Procedure
- Pre-heat the oven to 240 °C.
- Place the seasoned chicken atop the vegetables and insert a pricked lemon with the herbs.
- Put the tray in the oven and reduce the temperature to 200 °C.
- After 45 min, baste the chicken and add vegetables for roasting to the oven.
- After a further 45 min, cover the chicken with foil and rest it for 15 min.
- Meanwhile, make gravy and add the wings for extra flavour.
- Carve the chicken and serve with the roasted vegetables and gravy.
